Sample of a Legendary Class - Peterbilt Model 379
Often
imitated, never equaled, the Peterbilt Model 379 is a legendary symbol of
trucking. It is the truck that defines classic long-nose conventional styling,
and continues to take it to new levels of comfort, performance and reliability.
From
its aircraft-grade huckbolts – providing six times the strength of rivets –
to its aluminum hood and stainless steel grille, the Model 379 is, above all, a
driver’s truck. The Model 379 can be equipped from the widest range of engines
available – up to 600 HP – and a variety of Peterbilt’s proprietary
suspension systems, so it can be easily configured to meet the demands of
virtually any job and the hauling requirements of most any application. The
wheelbase can be adjusted in one-inch increments and six different frame rails
are offered to custom match strength-to-weight requirements.
The
versatility of the Model 379 allows it to be offered in both truck and tractor
configurations, and as a day cab or with optional sleepers. Additionally,
sleepers can be removed and a back wall kit installed, creating a day cab
configuration for a second life in a new application.
Designed
to improve both comfort and productivity, Peterbilt sleepers are available in
lengths from 36 inches up to 70 inches, including the most luxurious sleeper on
the road today, Peterbilt’s UltraSleeper. Peterbilt’s sleepers are
exceptionally quiet and smooth riding due to its patented Unibilt® Cab Sleeper
System. This system secures the cab and sleeper into a single structural unit
that provides great interior room while minimizing pitching motion and dampening
bumps, creating an incredibly smooth ride.
